Do you use a GPS device?

Whenever my hubby and I go someplace out of town, we try to bring a GPS device with use. Most of the time we already know the way to where we are going, but I like to use it anyway, because it helps us to determine a detour around a traffic jam if we come across an accident. And there have been times when we have accidentally missed a turn because we had a brain cramp (or you can call it a senior moment if you prefer) and it is nice to have a GPS there to remind us that the turn is coming up, or if we miss the turn because of unforeseeable circumstance, it helps us get to our destination with a recalculated route after we missed the turn.

I’d love to buy a zumo 220 GPS for my hubby’s birthday for him to put on his Harley. He’s always getting lost on it, and having a GPS on his Harley would help him to stay on track. My biggest concern about buying anything for his Harley, though, is how safe from thieves will it be? I’d hate to spend a fortune on something like that just to have it stolen off his bike!

Last Minute Accommodation Issues

Let’s face it we can not always plan the way things are going to happen. I don’t care if you were a Boy Scout, you can’t always be prepared for what life throws at you, no matter how hard you try. You see my sister is a  “planner” where I am the type that takes one day at a time, just trying to get through the day. I don’t think that there is a right or wrong way, just different strokes for different folks.

My sister just received news that her mother-in-law’s health is failing and that she may not have a lot of time left on this world, so she is trying desperately to find last minute flights that she can afford. As we all know isn’t always an easy task to find cheap flights on short notice. At least finding last minute hotels isn’t as big of deal, although advance notice is best all the way around. Thank goodness for the Internet, which has been very helpful during this stressful time for her and her hubby in her search for last minute accommodation needs.

Their blessed lives

One of the biggest flaws in my character is envy. I try really hard to NOT envy other people, but it can be really hard when so many of my friends and relatives have had such blessed lives and my life has been so full of struggles. I’m saying this because I just got my annual Christmas letter from my good friend Janine, who just returned home from the barbados wedding of her daughter. Of course she posted a lot of photos of the event on Facebook, and the wedding was lovely. I am so happy for her and her family! Now to count my OWN blessings!

House Numbers

My sister-in-law has been giving me some attitude lately concerning my address sign which is older than dirt at this point. She saw a show on TV which was referring to our emergency personnel having difficulty finding the right place to respond to when called for assistance due to the lack of easy to read house numbers. I’m sure that at night it would be even more of a challenge.

So she is urging me to get off of it and go online and start looking at the variety of address plaques and numbers. She sent me the link to justaddressplaques.com the other day and I’ve spent a bit of time looking around the place and seeing what is out there that might tickle my fancy. I never realized how many varieties there are these days, I’m finding that I’m leaning towards utilizing the lawn plaques that have become very popular.

It makes sense to get a decent address plaque. My biggest concern is that the pizza delivery person find my place in a timely fashion because I like my pizza still nice and hot! No matter which plaque I decided on, it has got to be an improvement over the one that I now have, so that is a plus in itself.

Wedding Flowers Toledo Style

It shouldn’t be too hard to find wedding florists in Toledo, what with everything, and I do mean everything, right at our finger tips. And since I’m pretty sure the majority of Toledo wedding florists do speak English and their websites are easy to maneuver around I’m sure it wouldn’t take much to get the perfect wedding flowers Toledo style lined up for a last minute wedding event such as being planned as I my fingers on typing on this keyboard.

Suzi has always been a spontaneous person so I can’t say that I’m really surprised to learn that she is rushing into a marriage with a fellow that she meant on her summer/fall adventure up in Toledo just a few months ago. Since she doesn’t have family really down here in the states they are holding this last minute wedding up where at least his family can attend, enjoy, celebrate and remember, which only makes sense. It’s too bad that I can’t take the time off of work and fly up there to attend. But at least we have the Internet to allow me to view all the pictures of the festivities.
